When I first saw this book I was expecting a romance novel but it was much more than that. Sadie has been in love with Garrett, her best friend, for two years. They have the same taste in movies, books and music the only problem is Garrett has no idea.In the summer he is going to be away for six weeks at a camp for aspiring writers, and she doesn't know what to do without him, her whole world is built around Garrett and now she's devastated.

Finally, after some thinking, she decides to get a job in Totally Wired coffee shop and starts becoming friends with her co-workers. This is the part of the book I really enjoyed, it was so much fun to know each of her friends, their personalities were so different but at the same time they complemented each other, they were essential for her to move on.

Sometimes Sadie drove me crazy mostly at the beginning of the book, but we get to see how she pulls herself together and starts a journey of self-discovery. As for Garrett, I never liked him, sometimes I though that maybe he was totally aware of Sadie's feelings for him and was just proud to have her like a trophy .

This is the first novel I've read by Abby McDonald and after reading this book it won't be my last. It was a fun read I loved the writing style and the humor in the book, but most of all, I loved the message: there's more to life than a boy.

Overall I enjoyed this light and entertaining story and I would recommend this book to contemporary YA readers.

Her journey is not off to an easy start, but Ana needs to know her purpose in a community of souls that have been reincarnated for centuries. Sam her love interest, doesn't think Ana is a no soul instead he thinks she's a new soul. Sam offers Ana the friendship she never had and desperately needs, the relationship between Ana and Sam was full of chemistry.

As the story unfolds she finds herself tangled in rules and misunderstandings. Those difficulties are the ones that help her become a stronger, more confident character, and that's something I truly appreciate. Incarnate is set in an amazing world that Jodi Meadows created, however, I would have loved if the world building was more balanced with the romance. I liked the premise and enjoyed the book but was not able to love it.

Overall I loved the concept behind this book and I believe it has a lot of potential for the next installment of the trilogy.

The way he feels about her will evoke all kinds of emotions. Miranda's writing style flows smoothly, and keeps the reader engaged through the entire book.

I enjoyed the first person narrative, all the conflict on Delaney's thoughts, until she meets Troy and her confusion starts forming deeper questions on life and death. After she meets him I start to believe there's going to be a love triangle, but is he trust worthy?

Overall I enjoyed this book, it was different, with the perfect amount of description and a little dash of romance. The only big problem I had with this book was I couldn't put it down.

In this book we are introduced to Austin Parker a 17 year old boy who's never going to see his eighteenth birthday, he has leukemia. This, however, does not stop him from trying to find meaning in his life. The book is narrated in first person and we get to know all the emotions the main character is feeling.

With the help of his best friend ( and secret love) Kaylee, he visits every person around him that needs to appreciate life and not take anything for granted, Austin speaks in a voice that is honest, funny and unusually eloquent. His relationship with Kaylee is amazing, I loved how they cared for each other, you can't help but feel for them. If anything I would have loved to had more backstory to their relationship.

While Austin is burdened with his own feelings he's still trying to live the rest of his live to the fullest, he is determined to confront his fears and help all the people around him. The waterfall scene was perfect, every detail made you feel right there with them. There's some language and sexual content. I would suggest the book for a young adult 14 and up.

Overall Never eighteen is a powerful novel. I'm not going to lie, you may need a box of tissues, the ending did make me tear up and that is not an easy task for a book to make me feel so much. I found myself absorbed in his journey. Megan Bostic manages to bring all these emotions to life and makes you feel them along with the characters. This is a great debut novel and can't wait for more from this author.

Addison Blakely: Confessions of a PK Review.

Addison Blakely: Confessions of a PK by Betsy St.Amant

In this book we follow Addison Blakely on her journey to find who she really is, not only who she has always been expected to be as a preacher's kid and let me tell you this journey is not going to be easy, as Addison meet Wes the typical bad guy she is comforted with some interesting decisions and has to stand strong to her beliefs. I liked Wes but sometimes I didn't agree with the way they where handling their relationship or the lack of it.

I'm glad this story had romance and yet no explicit sexual references, this is not so normal for a young adult book these days and sometimes it's nice to have a little change.

I can say I never got bored reading this book, the story holds some interesting dilemmas and the flow of the writing is good.

For some people this is the story of a family and their dog Enzo, but for me is so much more than that, for me this is the story of a dog and his best friend. The book is told in the dog's perspective and tells the story of an amateur race car driver, his family and how they go throw the obstacles life has put on their way, you can share every emotion and as you read the book you will laugh and you may need a box of tissues. There's nothing else I could say about this book without giving too much.

I believe that you don't need to love dog's or know a thing about racing. There are important life lessons on this book and I think everybody should give it a try. This is the adaptation for young readers of the original book The Art of Racing in the Rain, and If you are interested in reading this book I can tell you one thing, This story will stay with you long after you have read it.

- Has extra room for notes i.e. Very nice book remember to make review etc.
- Search option so you don't have to scroll all the way to find a book.
- You can recommend a book by email from within the application.

What I think they should improve is the bar code scan option because sometimes didn't find the book when I scanned the bar code. I will send them my opinion about this and hopefully they can fix it soon.

In this book we are introduced in the story of a society where humans loose their capacity to procreate over the age of eighteen because of a virus. In this world we follow Melody and Harmony, twin sisters living in very different worlds, while Melody lives in a liberal world where teens are encourage to have sex and get pregnant in order to surrogate, Harmony lives in a very religious restrictive one.

It's a dystopian novel set in 2035, sometimes while I was reading I felt overwhelmed for the slang and the story itself. Every chapter is written from Melody and Harmony point of view, since they are so far from each other it makes it interesting to try to understand their world.

Melody is preparing to be a professional surrogate at the age of sixteen when Harmony arrives to save her sister's soul, later on the book this may change. I believe the world Megan McCafferty made, as far as dystopian literature relates, is great, since dystopia is an often futuristic society that has degraded into a repressive and controlled state. Keep in mind the topics in the book made room for controversial point of views.

The story is a little complex for a teen audience, the sex scene is not descriptive but sex is a constant factor in this book, I believe it's up to you and your criteria whether to read or not this book. Overall I would recommend this book to dystopian lovers.

In this book we follow Anna as she's sent to boarding school in Paris which made me feel instantly interested in the story, one of the main reasons I liked this book was because I was able to remember my previous visit to Paris. I recognized many places mentioned in the book and felt like I was there.

The day Anna arrives, she meets a guy, Etienne St. Clair a charming, handsome and popular boy that will become her love interest with a little problem, he's taken. I enjoyed following how their relationship grew with all their romantic misunderstandings and misassumptions. The downside for me was that sometimes I was annoyed by St. Claire's emotional issues and the way he handled the relationship with his girlfriend and Anna

I can't really go deep into the story, but overall, I liked the book and would recommend this to anyone that enjoys a sweet charming novel.

There is some romantic tension, that made this book even more enjoyable, things are going to get a little harder when Clara comes close to fulfill her purpose and the book turns more interesting at every page.

Cynthia Hand made a book that's hard to put down, it is a well written teenage love story. I enjoyed the mythology in the book and the realism of the characters .

Overall I believe this book has a lot of potential for the next installment of the trilogy.

When I first saw this book I liked the cover it had some mysterious touch in it, so I start reading the book and I was a bit disappointed. It wasn't a bad read, it just was not my cup of tea, there was something missing with the characters. Legend's Run a town famous for it's tales of werewolves is divided by the snob East side and modest West side.

We are introduced to Celeste Parker an eastsider who has the ideal life, the perfect boyfriend and the best friends until a new boy shows up at school, she is attempting to bridge the social gap between the eastsiders and westsiders, sometimes I got annoyed by her not going all the way thru with it, there is a love triangle and a werewolf is involved. I believe the way the boy was described was a little odd and didn't attract me much.

Overall Once in a Full Moon was a light read hopefully as the series continues, the plot and characters will develop in complexity.

I didn't read Once a Witch, but it wasn't necessary, this book stands on it's own. I understood everything and let me say it's an amazingly written book. Tamsin Greene has gone thru her life without knowing that she had a Talent like everybody else in her family, now, she is starting to get familiar with it, since she is the only person who can save her family's future she is relieved she posses a Talent and afraid at the same time about the prophecy of her grandmother that she will soon be forced to make a crucial decision—one so terrible that it could harm her family forever.

This was a nice book. I really enjoyed reading it. At the beginning it was slow for me but that was because I didn't had the reference of the first one. As I advance in the reading found out it has everything, time travel, magic, action, suspense and romance.

Overall it was a nice change from my latest readings, the characters are well developed. Tamsin is a very fun character and a strong female one so it was great.

I can only say so much about this book. I loved it!!, let's say it's my guilty pleasure and just focus on the last word. It really was a pleasure for me read thru this book. The story was captivating since I always appreciate a good mystery. I started this book and couldn't stop reading, actually I finished it in one afternoon.

We follow Emma a foster teen who has been struggling all of her life for a normal family and her long-lost twin sister Sutton who got everything Emma could only dream. One day Emma sees a disturbing online video and discovers some horrible secrets in her sister's life, just then, she knows it's up to her to find out who killed Sutton. I liked having Sutton as a ghostly presence narrating the story.

If you are looking for a really light mystery book, this is it. A great start for Sara Shepard new series that left me holding my breath for the next book. Overall The Lying Game has just the right amount of suspense and you won't know who to trust.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked this book out, this book got so much hype that I was scared the book didn't live up to my expectations, but I was wrong. The book is wonderfully written, beautifully crafted. I thought this book really put things into perspective and make you evaluate your life and appreciate the people around you.

Sometimes Sam irritated me and I found my self wanting to shake her to make some sense into her. The characters where lovable and real even the annoying ones made you felt for them.

I believe this book is great for teenagers, teaches great lessons and will let them thinking on their choices, hopefully something good would be learned.

There where times that I wanted to stop reading because it turned repetitive but I knew it was better to keep reading. Things got more intense from chapter to chapter. Overall a great novel.

I loved the world that Jenna Black created, it was a world in which humans knew about the fae world for centuries, a world of magic. It had so much potential, but I personally found the book a little predictable.

Dana the main character is dealing with an alcoholic mom, and she keeps mentioning all the responsibility she had to take care of since her mom is unable through out the book. She is totally unhappy with her current life in the human world, one day Dana decides she has had enough with her mother and starts a journey that will change her point of view.

When she arrives to Avalon, she's caught off guard, it is not the town she imagined not all is magic and happiness. Once she meets her dad a truth that will change her life is revealed, she's special there, so special that some want her dead some want to kidnap her.

Overall her reactions are easy to guess, this actually bothers me a little. I prefer not knowing what's going to be the next step in the story. Everything else in the book was really interesting and I'll be reading the next book in the series.

This is the story of Zara a girl from Charleston, after the death of her step father her life takes a radical change, since her mom is unable to pull her out of the depression, she decides to send her away to Main with her grandmother in order to change scenery.

When Zara arrives to Maine weird things happen, a man has been following her and she thinks she is losing her mind, she hates the weather and her life at that point since the one and only father she has known is no longer there and the strange man keeps appearing, fortunately she became friend with Issie a sweet girl from her school and that made her life as the new girl easier.

The story is so well written that I was absorbed immediately into the universe that Carrie Jones created, the book is full of supernatural mystery. A nice touch was that each chapter heading was a phobia and made you understand a little of her thoughts.

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner by Stephenie Meyer

This novella is written from Bree’s perspective. I thought it was interesting to read what happened when she became a newborn vampire, since the books of the twilight saga don’t focus on their needs or their reactions, leaving us with little knowledge regarding their behavior. Despite I already knew how the story ends (as some of you who, already read the saga) found the story enjoyable.

I really liked to read about the battle between the Cullens and the newborn vampires from a different perspective.The story was darker and full of entanglements. Bree is always questioning the propose of the creation of her coven and her story becomes a mystery she’s determined to solve.

Another fun part of the book is that you are introduced to new characters, like Diego, a newborn vampire that becomes the romantic interest of Bree. Stephenie Meyer manages their story very well leaving me wishing they had more time to spend together on the book.

Dirty Little Secrets by C.J. Omololu

This is the story of Lucy Anne Tompkins a 16 year old girl. Her life seems perfectly normal from the outside, she have a best friend, a crush on a guy and works as a babysitter. The problem is that her life is nothing close to normal, Lucy will avoid any event that can lead to somebody to even put a feet inside her house, she is so embarrassed of her way of living, because her mother is a compulsive hoarder and her house can only be described with one word, trash. There’s so much stuff consuming her house that her mother hasn’t slept in her bed for years and she has to squeeze herself thru the labyrinth of boxes just to reach her room.

Every single day Lucy lives in fear that somebody will notice her living conditions and be so freaked out they will reject her even if her biggest dream is to have a clean and uncluttered house. There’s nothing she can say or do in order to change her mother, but one day, an unprecedented event changes everything.

The book covers 24 hours of Lucy’s life. Sometimes I didn’t agree with her decisions, but she kept me at the edge of my seat wondering what would be the end of the story. This definitely was a heart breaking situation, I couldn’t imagine how would it be to grow up like that. C.J. Omololu made an excellent job writing and developing this emotional story. Overall I really enjoyed this book.

In this book you follow the tragic and heroic fight of Pearl and May, two sisters that live in Shanghai, China during the Japanese invasion. Pearl is the older sister and was born in the year of the Dragon, she is tall with rosy cheeks, not the classic Chinese beauty, May who was born in the year of the Sheep has a porcelain doll complexion and a petite figure, she is perfection to her father eyes.

Both sisters go trough life thinking they have the world at their feet, they live a life full of privilege and glamour until they are told that their father has a huge debt and has decided to marry them to Gold Mountain Men that came from America for that purpose only. When this happens the sisters realize the life and future they had envisioned is far away from becoming their true destiny. They strive with desperation to help each other survive these hard times.

From that point we follow Pearl and May’s journey through this emotional rollercoaster novel. The book deeply explores the tight bond between the sisters.

Lisa See explores the importance of family with this wonderfully narrated historical novel. At times sweet, at others heart- wrenching the story is compelling and manage to deeply captivate you in many, many ways. I really liked this book, actually, more than I thought I will, I wasn’t able to put it down. As a personal comment the only disappointment would be that the ending felt abrupt.

Water for Elephants: A Novel by Sara Gruen

This is the story of Jacob Jankowski and is focused on his memoirs; we get introduced to him when he is 93 years old through his days at the nursing home. The story goes back and forth between past and present when he remembers his days at the circus. Due to a misfortune he wasn’t able to continue his studies at Cornell Veterinarian School in exchange, he finds himself on the Benzini Brothers Circus train where he is hired, this event changes his life, it allow him to bond and become a true friend with a very smart elephant named Rosie and to deeply fall in love with the woman of his dreams.

This is a really interesting and moving book, as the novel progresses the reader becomes drawn into this bizarre world where nothing is what you expect. The author made a really good job researching about the circus life in the 30’s and her description of the characters is beautifully done.

Sara Gruen is a talented storyteller that will make your skin get goose bumps as you go through the pages of this intriguing and fulfilling story. You will experience laughs, tears and be completely absorbed into the circus era of the 1930’s; it describes the rough details of that circus life. I was not able to put this book aside. It’s well worth reading it.

Flawless by Sara Shepard

This book picks up right where the first one ends. I won’t make a long review because I don’t want to give up much of it. I would really recommend reading the first book if you like chick lit or if you want to better understand this one.

In this book you get to understand the characters in a deeper way, you understand Aria’s relations with men, Emily’s issues with her family not being able to accept her by who she is, Spencer’s problems where no effort is enough to please her parents and stop them from comparing her to her older sister. Hanna’s relationship with her parents where she gets everything she wants just because they don’t want to cope with her.

The story unfolds and you get to know the characters in a deeper way. Still nobody knows who “A” is, rumors in town say there is a stalker on the loose, but for the girls “A” is still a mysterious shadow that sends them text messages and tries to control their lives.

At the end you finish with more questions than answers, when you think you know who “A” is, you may be wrong. This book increases the amount of mystery and drama from the first book in The Pretty Little Liars series.

This is the story of five friends, Alison, Aria, Emily, Hanna & Spencer, these friends are bound by a secret, a secret so terrible, that could potentially change their lives forever.

They are different in so many ways but at the same time all of them just want to fit, be the girl everybody wants to hang out with. They accomplish that by being friends with Alison DiLaurentis, the most popular girl in Rosewood. Things start to get difficult the night Alison vanishes without a trace, she kept them together and now they start drifting apart from each other.

Years later, Hanna is no longer the girl with weight problems, she transformed into the “It Girl”, she has the body and the style. Aria returns to Rosewood from Iceland, with a new daring and audacious attitude with the will to take control of her new self. Emily is the sporty girl, an all-star swimmer and perfect daughter and Spencer, the pretty typical overachiever.

Their lives continue to be awesome until one day each girl starts receiving threatening messages from a mysterious sender who’s signature is “A”. They must face their past and their worst fears in order to find out who is this mysterious character.

At first I got frustrated with the situations they got themselves into, but, as I advanced into the book, these girls started to learn lessons and the consequences of their acts. It managed to keep me interested and I wasn’t able to put it down. It’s a nice mystery book and that is the main reason I liked this book.

Although this book is intended to be a young adult novel, on my personal point of view, I wouldn’t recommend it to all. Many of the events, circumstances, actions or topics can be too complicated for some young readers, if you are mature enough or with some parenting advice this book is full of suspense and mystery.

First of all, I never watched “The Hills”, I will assume that a lot of this book is based on Lauren Conrad’s experiences on this reality.

The book is about a girl named Jane, she and her best friend, Scarlett, move to L.A. to pursue their independence and leave their comfort zone, what they would never imagined is that the road ahead is full of difficulties. Jane's character fights to survive life in Los Angeles when suddenly her life changes again. Before life settles and she is getting used to the way things are, she and her best friend are selected to be part of a new reality show. Not a long time after taking part on this reality they realize their relationships are being invaded and surrounded with scandal.

This book is written in a very simple prose and starts really slow, I could think about this book as a guilty-pleasure just to go out of my usual reading. It’s light, fun and easy to read, the book doesn’t have a heavy morale, many times it shines because of the lack of it. Overall I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a quick, light, fun, easy to read book, would be great to read on the beach or if you are into reality shows the book gives you a sneak peak of behind the scenes at how reality shows work.

Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

There where no surprises in Gatlin County

We were pretty much the epicenter of the middle of nowhere.

At least, that's what I thought.

Turns out, I couldn't have been more wrong.

There was a curse.

There was a girl.

And in the end, there was a grave.

Writing this review was really difficult, I really liked the book but you could taste from the way it’s written that it was indeed written by two different authors, the actual pace of the book shifted from really fast to really slow making it sometimes hard to read on my opinion, even thou, the book left me pleasantly surprised when I finished it.

It’s different than other books I’ve read lately. This is the story of Lena Duchannes a not so normal girl with great powers that arrives to a little town on south carolina and Ethan Wate an interesting boy that have lived his entire life in the small southern town of Gatlin, SC.

Ethan whose family have lived from generation to generation in Gatlin has one wish and one wish only go beyond the narrow boundaries of his hometown and travel around the world. Ethan is not a typical small town teenager, one day He’s haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl He has never met, during one of this dreams Ethan comes in contact with the girl who will become the focus of his life.

Lena Duchannes has a secret, a secret that would force Ethan to decide if he just goes away or if the love he preach to Lena is so strong that he decides to stay. From that starting point they will embarc in a roller coaster of emotions just to discover the connection between them.

The story is told from Ethan’s prespective, in my opinion Ethan voice could be stronger. The love story between Ethan and Lenna was beautifully done. I really liked the writing style where you can picture the details of the story, where you can feel the magic and sorround yourself in the mystery.

Margaret Stohl and Kami Garcia have pulled off an amazing story that will keep you wanting for more.
